Dispelling Myths - Can We Eat Between Meals?
The guide for eating properly and staying healthy...
One of the biggest myths surrounding weight loss is that you have to stop eating in between meals. Along with a lot of other things, it is not what we do but the way that we do it. Think about it, when you cave in and reach for that supposedly forbidden snack, what is it that you are actually reaching for? Research shows that 80% of us choose sugary, starchy or fatty foods; we tell ourselves they are easily available and we can burn off the calories because (here comes myth number two) we are too busy to eat properly. Hmm... let's start again shall we. It's mid-morning, still a couple of hours to go before lunch and you are literally starving, now, instead of diving into a chocolate bar, (which incidentally won't really hit the spot and only makes you crave more sugar), try reaching in your bag for the heavy duty salad you made earlier! Or, if it must be something a little sweet, try buying muesli bars with yoghurt coating. There are always better alternatives and by choosing these you will be helping yourself stay healthy along with the added benefit of eating more not less.
