Circuit training is a particularly effective type of exercise that provides training and conditioning for many muscle groups. The purpose of circuit training is to raise the heart beat and develop the muscles in a manner similar to athletes. Resistance is often used to increase the level of difficulty. Many of the muscles are often stressed and relaxed during different exercises. Therefore no pauses are seen in this particular exercise routine. Circuit training requires several types of exercise equipment such as treadmills, benches and weights. Circuit training shows a marked increase in overall fitness levels when carried out consistently over an extended period of time. The exercise routine covers almost all parts of the body and is considered a complete work out.
